Affirmations & Visualizations

Are your steps guided by the Universe?

Imagine your life as a long hallway with many doors on either side.

As you walk along, you will find that some doors open easily, but others appear to be locked.

And that’s fine.

You don’t have to open every door you see, but you can be in charge of the master key, so you choose whether you carry on along the corridor or stop and unlock a door.

This is all connected with taking the steps that you are guided to take by the Universe.

When you want to attract something into your life using the Law of Attraction, the first thing you need to do is decide exactly what you want and ‘set your intention.’ This gives a clear message to the Universe about what you want to manifest and puts the wheel in motion for it to become real.

The Universe will guide you towards which doors you should choose from the multitude before you on the corridor.

If you pay attention to your intuition, which is linked to the Universe and your higher power, you will feel pulled towards opportunities that are right for you and in alignment with your end goal.

If you decide to go with the pull of the Universe, you are taking ‘guided steps.’

In simple terms, this means that you are tuning into divine messages and allowing yourself to be guided by higher powers that see the right path between you and your wishes.

I would say that writing this article for you is one of my guided steps. It is part of my destiny to share this information and help people trust more in their own guidance systems.

So, today we’re going to look at how we use our thoughts, feelings, and behavior to attract what we want into our lives.

We will explore what guided steps are and also alternative types of actions we might take that might not lead us to our destiny.

We will also discuss how you can learn to be more aware of the divine guidance you receive and how you will know that you’re on the right path!

“Following our inner guidance may feel risky and frightening at first, because we are no longer playing it safe, doing what we ‘should’ do, pleasing others, following rules, or deferring to outside authority.”

— Shakti Gawain

Thoughts, Feelings, and Behavior

The fundamental fuel of the Law of Attraction is energy. As humans, we all constantly emit energy into the Universe, and the type of energy we generate will influence our lives and what happens in our reality.

The three things that determine the vibrational energy that we emit are our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Every time we do one of these things, we transmit a vibrational frequency beyond our physical bodies.

The thing is that when people want to use the Law of Attraction to make their dreams come true, many of them misunderstand what type of behavior they should adopt.

Often, people don’t even do anything! They think that they have done all they need to by simply thinking about what they want. There is a saying linked to the Law of Attraction that ‘thoughts become things,’ but many people take this too literally and don’t do anything more than imagine their goals.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, other people will be 100% focused and obsessed with trying to achieve their desires. They will dedicate as much time to their goal as possible, desperately trying to make it manifest quickly, but become exhausted and frustrated when this doesn’t lead to their desired results.

So, which is best? Should you jump in headfirst and work as hard as you possibly can, or do you just tell the Universe what you want once and then forget about it?

What type of actions should you take when you want to manifest your dream life?

Keep reading, and I’ll tell you…

“Aligning with the Spirit is an ongoing challenge. But remember, your intention sets your direction, and as long as you are moving in the direction of your intention, you are doing all you need to do.” – John Roger

What Are Guided Steps?

Of course, it’s always great to go after the things you want, particularly when it comes to what you want to manifest. But the truth is that you have to take the right kind of action. You have to take guided steps.

When you take guided steps, you are moving closer to your goal in a way that has been directed by your higher self and the Universe.

There are three things you can do to ensure that you are taking guided steps.

Let’s take a closer look:

1.) Follow Your Instinct

Have you ever suddenly had a brilliant idea that jumped into your head from out of the blue?

Often, this happens when you’re not thinking about that particular thing – maybe you’re driving, or walking, or doing something else that is a bit monotonous and unrelated to the topic.

When you have these moments of inspiration and clarity, you are actually receiving information from the Universe. Your subconscious mind has opened itself to receive the frequency from a higher power, and the idea that pops into your head is the result.

This happens because you have put your manifestations out into the world, and the Universe is letting you know what to do next. It’s as if it’s telling you that another one of the doors on the corridor has now become unlocked so you can open it and see where it leads.

You need to trust your instincts when these flashes of inspiration happen because that is a way of communicating to the Universe that you believe in its guidance. The more you follow the signs given to you, the more signs you will receive and the faster you will progress along your path.

“Your mind knows only some things. Your inner voice, your instinct, knows everything. If you listen to what you know instinctively, it will always lead you down the right path.” – Henry Winkler

2.) Go with Your Flow

Do you find that sometimes, when you do something you really enjoy, you are so concentrated on what you are doing that the time just flies by?

This is called being in a state of flow. It happens when all of your attention is focused on doing whatever it is that you are doing. Nothing else seems to exist in that moment, and time seems to take on a different measure.

When you take guided steps, you will likely enter into this flow state.

For example, creative people such as musicians, authors, artists, etc., can easily enter into a state of flow whenever they are working on their craft. This is linked to them producing music, books, pieces of art, as is their destiny. They are born to create, so they get “into the zone,” and it’s as if it just flows from them.

This is the exact state of mind that you need to be in to manifest what you want in your life. When you are in a flow state, you will be super productive, but it will have felt so effortless that you will surprise yourself with your own output!

When you are in flow, it will never feel like hard work. Everything you do will feel relaxing or exhilarating.

And when you have finished your task, you will feel satisfied and that everything is going as it should. You will know that you are aligned with what the Universe has planned for you – as if it is your calling.

The next time you notice that time has flown by, make a mental note of what you were doing. Whatever that action was, it induced the flow state in you, so you should do it more regularly.

When you go with your flow, you go where the Universe is guiding you.

“Flow is a state of being when we are completely focused, and fully immersed in what we are doing. In flow our work seems effortless, creativity goes into overdrive, we feel inspired, and motivation springs forth from within.” – Dragos Bratasanu

3.) Do More of What Makes You Happy

The third way to take guided steps is to increase how often you do things that put a smile on your face.

Allow yourself to be led by your heart from time to time.

What would really bring you joy in this precise moment?

When you feel happy, you raise your vibrational frequency, and you will put some of that positive energy into the Universe. The response you receive will be more things to feel happy about.

Sometimes, the things that make you feel joyful will not seem to be linked to what you want to manifest, but that’s fine!

It doesn’t matter if it’s watching a comedy with friends or walking on the beach. If it brings you joy and you feel inclined to do it, then trust what your body is telling you to do.

It is still a guided step, as the inspiration comes from the Universe and your higher power. And each step that you take under divine guidance is directing you towards the next one.

“Think thoughts that make you happy. Do things that make you feel good. Be with people who make you feel good. Eat things that make your body feel good. Go at a pace that makes you feel good.” – Louise Hay

What Are Neutral Steps?

Neutral steps are the ones you take daily but which don’t fill you full of joy or excitement. Often, they are the acts we have to do but that we find boring and routine.

Imagine these neutral activities are when you are walking along the corridor, preparing yourself to choose the next door that will take you closer to your destiny.

Not everything we do can be guided at a divine level. We still need to go about our daily business and function doing ‘normal’ things such as going shopping and paying the bills.

But as I mentioned earlier, sometimes, when we do something that we don’t need to concentrate on because it’s a matter of routine, that is when we receive messages from our higher power as our subconscious mind is more relaxed and open.

And anyway, neutral steps are still steps that move us forward and align with our goals; they are perhaps just smaller in size.

“It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward.” — Louis Sachar

What Are Uninspired Steps?

You will notice if you are doing activities that are uninspired because you will feel it. Uninspired steps do not align with your destiny and where you want to go, so any action in this direction makes you feel drained, hassled, and unhappy.

However, there is something inside you that feels obliged to do these activities.

Unfortunately, for a lot of people, this relates to their day job.

Perhaps, when they first started, they were excited about their new career. It might have looked like a fantastic job that would lead to lots of opportunities. It may even have been a guided step for them to get that job as it was aligned to their goal at the time.

But, things change!

Life is all about new beginnings, development, and transformation.

Our steps start to become uninspired when we are no longer moving towards our purpose.

If you find that you feel stressed or depressed when doing something – whether that’s a job or any other type of activity – you are probably entering a phase of uninspired action.

Other times you may find yourself taking uninspired steps is if you are asked to do a task that you do not want to do, or you force yourself to do something that doesn’t feel aligned with your goal.

By all means, it is good to help other people when they need a hand with something, but don’t let that be to your detriment.

If you feel really uncomfortable doing something or something doesn’t feel right, but you can’t put your finger on exactly what it is, just note that feeling. It is a message that you are faltering from the path you should be on, meaning that you are on the verge of moving away from your own destiny.

This is, therefore, an uninspired step that you should avoid taking.

“You have to decide what your higher priorities are and have the courage – pleasantly, smilingly, nonapologetically – to say ‘no’ to other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside. – Stephen R. Covey

Thoughts Become Things

Now that we have looked at the different types of steps that we can take and how they support or hinder your progress towards your destiny, let’s return to the Law of Attraction saying that I mentioned earlier: ‘thoughts become things.’

I love how simple yet powerful this phrase is, but I think it is often misinterpreted.

It is a fact that thoughts become things. In its simplest form, every single thing that exists on earth began as an idea in someone’s mind. Without someone having a thought about how to design a computer, or inventing the internet, I wouldn’t be writing this, and you wouldn’t be able to read it. And that goes for every physical thing. It’s astounding when you think about it!

When people have lucid dreams, where they know they are dreaming as they are asleep, they know that they can create things in their dreams with their thoughts. Sometimes, it’s like you are the director of the movie. Whatever you think will instantly occur.

If you transfer this concept to our everyday lives, perhaps it’s easier to understand the saying.

All of the things that you want to manifest into your life already exist on a vibrational level.

Abraham Hicks explains that all of your desires are stored in a place called ‘the vortex.’

The vortex is often described as a constantly swirling spiral and is located in a non-physical realm. When you state your intentions to the Universe and ask for what you want to manifest, the vortex is where these things await you before they exist in our physical realm.

When you are vibrating on your highest, most positive vibrational frequency, this is when you can access the vortex, and ultimately, when thoughts really do become things.

It’s not enough to just think about something to manifest it into your reality; you have to act.

But that’s the best part of the journey! That’s when the adventures happen!

Trying to manifest without taking guided steps would be like wanting to win the lotto without ever buying a ticket.

“Small, deliberate actions inspired by your true desires create a life you love.”
— Danielle LaPorte

Guided Steps and Successful Manifesting

If you want to manifest successfully, it’s essential that you follow your intuition and take guided steps.

This is because once you put your desire out into the Universe and your wishes are in the vortex, the Universe and your higher power will organize things so that a path to your destiny opens up to you.

When you pay attention to your instincts and any messages that you receive from your higher self or the Universe, you will see that they are signals to show you which guided steps you need to take to align with the route towards your goals.

The type of thoughts you have and how you feel can lead to receiving more spiritual guidance. The higher you raise your vibration, the more aligned you will be to your goals, and your subconscious will open to receive divine instruction.

You will then have a clearer idea about the guided steps you need to take to follow the shortcut to your dream life!

What Happens if I Become Uninspired?

Yes, unfortunately, even those things that start as an exciting adventure can become monotonous and dull with time – when the novelty wears off.

It often happens if you become distracted and take your eye off the end goal you are heading towards. If you have a specific task that you want to finish, ensure that you keep your positive approach and enthusiasm for it until the end.

If you find that you don’t even care anymore about what happens with your project, it will feel like a burden to see it through to the end because you will no longer be aligned with your goals, and your vibrational frequency will drop.

However, if you find yourself feeling uninspired and out of alignment, don’t worry! You can get back to feeling inspired about your goals.

The solution is to ensure that you have clear things that you want to manifest. Take some time to think about what it is that you want to achieve from the task you are doing. How is this part of the bigger picture? What will it feel like once you have achieved it? What else might it lead to?

Once you can get excited about what you are doing again, you will think and feel differently about it.

If you can remind yourself of the importance of what you are doing, you will have a different purpose for doing it, and your vibration will lift.

“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path.” – Joseph Campbell

How Do I Connect More With Spiritual Guidance?

The most effective way to ensure that you are taking guided steps is to pay attention to your intuition and enhance the link that you have with the Universe and your higher power.

But how is it possible to make that bond stronger, and how you become more open to receiving messages?

Without hesitation, my answer to this question and wholehearted recommendation would be to establish a regular meditation routine.

Meditation is an amazing manifestation technique. The state you go into while meditating means that your subconscious has a more open line of communication with your higher power and the Universe. During mediation, the messages you receive will show you the guided steps you need to take towards being aligned to your goals.

How can I be so confident about this?

Well, I have done it myself.

I found that when I first started meditating regularly, I noticed many more signs of guidance than I ever had done previously. And it wasn’t always during the meditation sessions.

Sometimes, things would pop into my mind when I was doing other things. I would also see patterns and notice signs during the day that linked to what I wanted to manifest. They all encouraged me that I was on the right path, and I have definitely noticed that I am more aware of these messages when I have a regular meditation routine.

I’m not saying that you have to meditate for hours every day either. It could be as little as 10 minutes a day. It just gives your mind time to quieten and tune into the messages that are trying to reach you.

There are a number of other ways you can lift your energy levels that will open you up to receiving divine messages, including:

  • Mindfulness – be present in the moment and notice the magic of everything around you.
  • Go for a walk in nature and have a break from the stress of the city.
  • Pay attention to your heart and follow its lead.
  • Enjoy yourself and do more activities that bring you joy.

However, the most important thing to note is that when you get a message, you have to act on it!

The more you show the Universe that you are paying attention and following the guidance given to you, the more you will receive.

It won’t take long before your intuition notices all the guided steps you need to take towards your manifestation goals.

10 Signs that You’re Taking Guided Steps

If you don’t know for sure if you have seen any signs from the Universe or been in a flow state, here are ten  things to look out for:

1. You notice things that link to your goals or that are personal to you more often.

2. You see synchronicity in numbers frequently, such as always seeming to notice when it is 11:11.

3. Time flies by when you are doing something that is connected with your goal.

4. You feel like things are easier than they use to be. You can do things faster and have no frustrations.

5. You feel happier and enjoy life more.

6. You find it easier to attract what you want into your life.

7. You often have inspired ideas that pop into your head when you are in a relaxed state or doing something unrelated to the idea.

8. You have more energy than you used to have.

9. You seem to be luckier and have good things happening to you.

10. Your productivity has increased. Not only are you doing things faster, but you are doing many more things without any additional stress.

Always bear in mind that the Law of Attraction involves more than just thinking about something, and it will magically appear. You have to take some kind of action, but the key to manifestation is that you take the right steps – ones that are guided by the Universe through your intuition.

Trust yourself and trust the messages that you notice. They will lead you to exactly where you need to be.
